OGRES Motorcycle Club 2026 March Meeting This Coming Thursday March 5th

The March 2026 OGRES Motorcycle Club mandatory meeting is this coming Thursday, March 5, at 1800 hours (6 pm).

The meeting will be held at the barn on Fairview. Depending on the weather, we will either dine at the Sockeye or ride over to Rudy's.

Updated pages for the OMC Handbook will be handed out to those who have not received them yet. Grim is handing them out via hardcopy as they do not email properly, as they print out all wack. (For reference, the latest best version is dated January 6, 2026.)

Coins, patches and pins will be discussed.

See you there.

OGRES Motorcycle Club 2026 Valentine's Day Bash with the Spouses Report

OGRES MC members and their spouses met at the Fairview Clubhouse for the annual Valentine's Day Soiree.

OMC Members present: Slick, Smooth, Grim, Bomber, G-Man, RipCity and Duke. OMC members absent: Gundy, Ace and Rowdy.

The social hour was filled with great appetizers, drink and conversation. It is a great addition to this event as it is hard socialize around a long dinner table and hard to talk with one's mouth full of great food.

Eventually, RipCity sounded the exit alarm and all headed over to the Sockeye Grill.

Upon arrival in the railroad car, we arranged the tables to our liking and everyone found their seats. Great conversation and laughs were had while waiting for dinner to be served. The overwhelming meal of choice was the meatloaf dinner.

Post dinner there were more lies, stories and laughter, and at one point, there was actually a complete table wide conversation and story-telling segment that was especially enjoyable.

Finally, Smooth signaled that it was time to leave and we said our goodbyes.

Everyone seemed to have a great time at the railroad car.

Apologies to those who were unable to attend due to the reservation being made too late to get the advertised date. G-Man said he would make the reservation next year before Christmas.

See You Next Year

OGRES Motorcycle Club 2026 Sanctioned Run Reservations Update

OGRES Motorcycle Club members are encouraged to make their reservations for the OMC sanctioned Runs for 2026.

Rowdy has secured OMC group pricing for all hotels for all three runs, except for the Stagecoach Inn in Salmon during the OMC Fall Run. You might wait on that Salmon reservation until advised by Grim or Rowdy.

When you phone call each hotel, advise the front desk that you are part of the OGRES Motorcycle Club and ask for the associated group rate. Do not reserve your room on line.

The next OMC event is the Valentines Day dinner with the spouses. This event will take place on Friday, February 20. Details will be sent out as soon as the logistics are reserved, confirmed and finalized.

OGRES Motorcycle Club 2026 January Meeting Report

OMC members present: Rowdy, Grim, Gundy, Slick, G-Man, Smooth and RipCity. OMC members absent: Duke, Ace and Bomber.

The meeting was moved from Thursday as both of our usual meeting venues were unavailable at short notice.

Dues were collected and all OMC members on the current roster are paid in full for the 2026 calendar year. Dues were increased this year to cover the rising costs of the OMC website and other projects.

The Events/Run calendar was passed out to all attendees with the latest information and maps. This calendar was finalized for 2026 at our last December meeting.

One of the OMC members started to bring out maps and suggestions. He was reminded that the time for such activity ceased after the December ride planning meeting.

IMPORTANT:  Rowdy volunteered to contact all six hotels involved in the three OMC sanctioned Runs. Under the direction of the Vice President, he will negotiate and lock in a block rate for OMC members and guests. Do NOT make your reservations until you hear from Rowdy and/or VP RipCity. Any questions or concerns shall be directed to them.

After some more conversation, the attendees headed over to the Sockeye Grill for some dinner.

After more conversation and some good food, the meeting was adjourned and the heroes faded into the night.

OGRES Motorcycle Club 2026 New Years Breakfast Report

Or this could be Deja Vu all over again as Grim's misstep was a repeat of last year.

After rediscovering that the Capri Cafe is closed on New Years Day, OMC members relocated to Terri's. Grim also left his phone at home but a resourceful Road Captain Gundy had his phone and alerts were sent to all members.

OMC members present: Grim, Slick, G-Man, Rowdy, Gundy, RipCity, Bomber, Duke and Ace.

OMC member absent: Pasadena Smooth.

We had a frazzled, inexperienced server but she was very nice and got us all served. This restaurant always has great food so that was a foregone conclusion.

Great conversation, much laughter and many stories were exchanged and it was a nice time.

There was discussion about 15 year challenge coins and finding a vendor for OGRES MC t-shirts and ball caps. More discussion will be had in a week at the January meeting.

Next meeting is January 8th. Details to follow but be prepared to pay the $75 membership dues for the 2026 year.
