This is not a mandatory meeting. However, this event is for OMC members only.
See you there.
Members present: Duke, Bomber, G-Man, Grim, Gundy, Smooth, Rip City and Rowdy. Members absent: Krome and Slick.
The meeting convened at the appointed date and time. The first order of business was to review the new OMC "Hagerman" Spring Run. It was emphasized that the Spring Run is now on a Thursday and Friday. Grim has test rode it twice and found it to be very enjoyable.
All three OMC sanctioned Runs are open to guests that have been approved in advance by the President.
There were some current event topics discussed, some political observations given and some Covid 19 frustrations shared.
The OMC Summer and Fall Runs were also discussed to some length. If you haven't made your reservations, it is encouraged that you do right away. The new OMC Events/Meeting calendar was emailed to all members today and it will aid in accomplishing this task. If you haven't already done so, or already have a reservation, get your name on the waiting list for the Best Western in Orofino. Also, reservations for Joseph cannot me made until January.
The members present adjourned the meeting and headed next door for a meal. We had a very nice time at the restaurant and G-Man arranged for us to have a look inside the railroad car that is on the property. Hopefully, we will be able to have our February dinner with the spouses in the railroad car.
It was a great time with the best vibes and fellowship.
The regularly scheduled OGRES Motorcycle Club meeting is this coming Thursday, November 4th, at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the Cloverdale Clubhouse.
See you there.
Thousand Springs |
Grim recently "ran" this route past the road captains, G-Man and Gundy, and they approved this Run for consumption by the OMC members and guests.
Hence, this the official route, dining and lodging information for the 2022 OGRES MC "Hagerman" Spring Run.
Please note the June 9th and 10th is a Thursday and a Friday.

Friday evening brought a clean sky with cool weather following the rain. OGRES members and their lovely ladies gathered for the annual September bash at Bomber and Mrs. Bs lovely home. We missed those members not able to attend.
This is always a special event and the best times ever have transpired at this location. Many thanks to Mrs. B and Bomber for hosting the event yet again. They said they would love to host it every year. Be careful what you wish for.
We lined up at the buffet table loaded with pork steaks, baked potatoes, a wonderful salad, fresh corn on the cob, and dinner rolls. Keeping it simple, indeed. G-Man had arrived with a trio of pies for dessert.
We loaded up our plates and gathered around the table. Light conversation was mixed with the intake of the fantastic meal and great vibes of the room.
We had some great conversations starting with reminiscing about Paul Revere and the Raiders and their connection to the Treasure Valley. It was fun having the discussion take us back to younger times.
Next up was the sharing of pet names for our spouses. It was fun to hear more about members and spouses. We also shared middle names and stories about how nicknames and formal names came to be.
A short recess was taken for getting pictures of the attendees before the evening light completely vanished.
After "photo phun", the lovely pies, that G-Man had brung, were cut and ice cream was added for maximum effect. G-Man had brought apple, cherry and a pie that looked like cookies and cream. Grim forgot to ask. There is nothing quite as good as cherry pie a la mode.
We talked about our brushes with celebrities and how we had come into contact with "famous" people. We are still not sure who had Englebert Humperdinck's baby.
Rowdy started clearing the table so that was our cue to gather our belongings and say goodnight. Much more conversation and cajoling took place until Bomber said, " Well, I guess I should go to bed so you folks can go home".
We all safely made it to our rides and rode into the sunset.

Garage Cafe Notus, Idaho |
The OGRES 2021 Fall Run began inauspiciously at best. OMC members were to meet at the Garage Cafe at 7 a.m. Rip City, Duke and Slick arrived to find the Garage Cafe not opening until 8 p.m. They forged ahead and had breakfast in Vale.
Grim, on the other hand, was waiting for Boise Cycle to open up as he had performed a safety inspection on his Road King Special the night before. Finding the rear inflation to be at 18 psi., instead of 41 p.s.i., further inspection found a screw imbedded in the rear tire. Grim notified the aforementioned trio to go ahead without him and he would catch up if tire service could be procured.
Carl Davis at Boise Cycle was slammed and he was unable to do the service so Grim went to High Desert Harley. The dealer was able to install a new tire and Grim was on the road by 11 a.m.
(Writer's note: Always check the Harley dealer's work before you leave. The drive belt was not checked by the mechanic and the belt was super overly tight. I did not notice it until I took off my full face helmet after arriving back in Idaho on the second day. Then I could hear all the extra noise and whining caused by the improperly adjusted belt. Carl Davis, at Boise Cycle, adjusted it properly on Saturday and hopefully no damage was done)

We rolled on to the Chevron at Old Highway 30 and Highway 44 where we stopped for the final time for this Run. Goodbyes and such were made while declarations of gratitude for a great ride abounded.
'Nuff said.
