OGRES MC Annual Barbecue and September Meeting President's Report

Friday evening brought a clean sky with cool weather following the rain. OGRES members and their lovely ladies gathered for the annual September bash at Bomber and Mrs. Bs lovely home. We missed those members not able to attend.

This is always a special event and the best times ever have transpired at this location. Many thanks to Mrs. B and Bomber for hosting the event yet again. They said they would love to host it every year. Be careful what you wish for.

We lined up at the buffet table loaded with pork steaks, baked potatoes, a wonderful salad, fresh corn on the cob, and dinner rolls. Keeping it simple, indeed. G-Man had arrived with a trio of pies for dessert.

We loaded up our plates and gathered around the table. Light conversation was mixed with the intake of the fantastic meal and great vibes of the room.

We had some great conversations starting with reminiscing  about Paul Revere and the Raiders and their connection to the Treasure Valley. It was fun having the discussion take us back to younger times.

Next up was the sharing of pet names for our spouses. It was fun to hear more about members and spouses. We also shared middle names and stories about how nicknames and formal names came to be.

A short recess was taken for getting pictures of the attendees before the evening light completely vanished.

After "photo phun", the lovely pies, that G-Man had brung, were cut and ice cream was added for maximum effect. G-Man had brought apple, cherry and a pie that looked like cookies and cream. Grim forgot to ask. There is nothing quite as good as cherry pie a la mode.

We talked about our brushes with celebrities and how we had come into contact with "famous" people. We are still not sure who had Englebert Humperdinck's baby.

Rowdy started clearing the table so that was our cue to gather our belongings and say goodnight. Much more conversation and cajoling took place until Bomber said, " Well, I guess I should go to bed so you folks can go home".

We all safely made it to our rides and rode into the sunset.
