The scheduled OMC day ride began as planned at the designated place and time. Members present: Gundy, Grim, RipCity, Smooth, Rowdy and Duke. We also had a guest as Stephen accompanied us on this ride. Members absent: G-Man, Slick and Bomber.
Gundy did an excellent job ramrodding and leading this ride. RipCity was the sweep and operated admirably.
We rode through Idaho City and had a pleasant and fairly clear ride to Lowman. We stopped briefly by the Lodge to confirm that it was again open for business. It was nice to see that.
Our next stop was at Kirkham Hot Springs. The temperature had risen and the sun was definitely all the way out. The campground was under construction so we walked in to the hot springs. The river was very high and much of the usual "springs" was covered by fairly fast moving water.
After everyone geared back up, Gundy led us down the road and we cruised down to Crouch for a nice lunch at The Longhorn. We had a fun server and the food was pretty good. After eating we headed out to
Duke's crib further up the valley in Garden Valley.
We all felt sorry for Duke in as much he has to settle for such a little, sorry shack at the foot of the mountain. It was a nice sojourn but we were back on the road shortly.
We cruised down the highway through Banks and Horseshoe Bend with no traffic whatsoever between the two towns. It was a smooth ride the rest of the way until we stopped at the Chevron Station at 55 and Beacon Light. We gathered in the shade and chatted for quite a bit as it seemed most were not in a hurry to get home.
The next event is the OMC Spring 3 Day run. See you there.
