OGRES Motorcycle Club September 2025 "Givens" Day Ride Report

Givens Hot Springs

Everyone was early, or on time, for the meet up for this great day ride. The temperature was pleasant and the 6 rider complement was just right.

We headed west and immediately were mired in slow traffic as we rode the south side of the lake. As we turned off and headed across country, we were able to pass the slow vehicles and travel much faster. We cruised through the rolling hills and valleys until we passed through Marsing. As we headed along the south side of the river, the traffic appeared to fade away due to our presence. It was very nice riding through the thermals, enjoying the warm and cool changes.

We arrived at Givens Hot Springs and found there to be ten minutes before they opened. The staff member opened the front door and said we had to wait. Grim, being his dense self, thought he was serious rather than the joker he turned out to be. Grim is sorry for barking at everyone. Duh.

We had a nice time in the silky water and we had the pool to ourselves for quite a while. RipCity turned out to be the winner of the impromptu Water Olympics that were by the OMC members and guest. This was surprising as he really "sandbagged" the other competitors during warmup. Rowdy was first to abandon the water and the others begrudgingly followed suit.

We departed after getting dressed and geared back up. We rode past Walters Ferry and over through Melba utilizing Potato Road as a thoroughfare.

We went up and over the rolling hills and stop signs until we eventually landed at Hudsons Baker in Kuna. Seeing no Kavemen to block our entrance we headed inside.

The folks at the Bakery were as gracious and helpful as usual. We ordered our food and it came out slowly but we expected that. It was a nice meal and the company and conversation was enjoyable.

We all parted ways from this point and headed home.

It was a great last ride for the OMC members and guest. It has been a great 15 year run for the OGRES motorcycle club.
