Belated May 2019 OGRES MC Meeting Report

Bomber's International Rat Rod

The OGRES MC May 2019 meeting convened at the Clubhouse at the appointed date and time.  Present:  G-Man, Krome, Smooth, Grim, Rip City, Bomber and Gundy.  Absent:  Duke and Slick.

We checked out Bomber's "new" Rat Rod and the new upgrades on Krome's Road Glide.

We had a short meeting in the Clubhouse before dinner.  The Spring Run was discussed and Gundy was appointed Ride Captain for the Spring Run as Grim will be in New Hampshire working.  Members were reminded that the ride was on June 7th and 8th...a Friday and Saturday.  The merits of keeping it on a Friday or Saturday or moving it to Thursday and Friday next year were discussed.  Future discussion will be held at a later date.

We discussed motorcycle training and the efficacy of attending an advanced course.  All members thought it would be great if we all attended an advanced class as a Club.  G-Man was assigned to following up on possibilities, as this definitely falls within the job description of the Vice President, and report back to the members.

Also discussed, again, was the desire to have a advance handgun class for the members to attend as a Club.  Grim was assigned to follow up on this training as he has the contacts.

In the President's opinion, Club activities such as the aforementioned ones. require attendance of 2/3s of the members in attendance.  That means at least 6 members need to commit to make it a "Club Activity".  Otherwise, members can sign up and attend the trainings on their own time and desires.  Or with fewer members.

Grim was left with the impression that the fun was in doing the trainings as a Club.  Maybe he missed the boat.

Since only half of the members were on motorcycles, we walked over to the Sockeye Grill for a nice meal.  The company was great and Rip City managed to stay awake all the way through his Mac n' Cheese.

A good time was had by all members in attendance especially when trash-talking the missing members.

That is all...

OGRES MC March 2019 Meeting Report

Rip City Enjoying His Door Prize

Members of the OGRES MC met at the appointed place and time.  All were present except for Krome.  I guess his petticoat tails were not long enough to allow attendance.  Much trash talk occurred, per tradition, about Krome in his absence.

Duke brought our favorite Taco Bell treats and G-Man brought the young adult beverages.  I am not sure who won the taco eating contest between Bomber and Rip City.  It was a close battle.

We then had some firearms training which include the basic manual of arms for pistols and revolvers. All ammo was secured outside in vehicles including the one bullet that Rip City routinely carries in his pocket per Andy of Mayberry.

Grim brought extra handguns and holsters but things were made difficult when Slick did not have a belt and Rip City's belt was too wide for his holster.  Whaddygunnado?

We worked on trigger control and sight alignment/picture which are the two most important mechanical steps in being accurate and deadly.

We practiced the 4 step draw process to go from holster to threat.  Next meeting we will do some more work and speed up to one fluid motion flowing through all four steps.  We practiced the draw sequence until an ambulance had to be called for Rip City due to the injury to his thumb caused by numerous safety on and off drills.

Members were directed to practice the holster draw sequence and do some dry firing at bad guys on the television.  Members are responsible for the safety and well being of their television sets and spouses.

Rip City won the door prized of electronic firearms ear protection.  The ear covers have saved his marriage that has been wrought with a low volume speaking wife and a half deaf Rip City.

See you in May...

We will be working on the basic manual of arms, safety, sight alignment and trigger pull after doing some holster training and sigh acquisition.

OGRES MC January 2019 Meeting Report

Gundy, G-Man, Bomber, Smooth, Krome, Rip City and Slick (Photographer Grim)

The meeting took place at the appointed time and place.  All members were presented except the Sergeant-at-arms Duke.

We started off the meeting having a Taco Bell Doritos Locos tacos eating contest followed by a cupcake eating contest.  Thanks to G-Man for the beverages, Krome for the dessert and Duke for the Taco Bell tacos.  I believe Rip City won with 9 tacos eaten.

Krome definitely won the contest for the most cool sweatshirt.  We forgot to ask him where he acquired it.  It will be fun to see the his next project with the Indian.

We then had a gift exchange which revealed many great and fun gifts.  We will continue this tradition in the future.

We discussed a couple of 4 day Runs which would take place the first part of August.  More discussion about this at the March meeting.

We also discussed having some weapons training at the March meeting.  Be sure to bring you handgun and holster of choice for some great training.

OGRES MC New Years Day Brunch - 2019

Bomber, G-Man, Smooth, Gundy, Slick, Grim, Guest, Rip City and Duke

OGRES MC members met at the appointed time and place for some brotherhood, jokes, stories and breakfast.  All were present except for Krome.

We had a great waitress and the food seemed pretty good except for Rip City's hash browns were not crispy enough.

The real studs were Rip City and Duke.  Both were on their motorcycles instead of resorting to cages like the rest of us.  However, Duke was pretending to be undercover as his CUT was MIA.

A great time was had by all and none of us really wanted to leave.  Smooth and Duke had movie dates so we eventually made way for the lunch crowd.

See all y'all on Thursday.  Bring your dues and your gift for the exchange.

'Nuff said.....

OGRES MC November 2018 Meeting Report

The OGRES MC November meeting commenced at the appointed time and place.  Present: G-Man, Smooth, Gundy, Slick, Bomber, Duke and Grim.  Absent: Rip City and Krome.

A short meeting was held in the Clubhouse to begin the evening.  Discussed were OMC Run dates and routes.  It was decided the Spring and Fall Runs would be held on a Thursday/Friday format.  The Summer Run will stay the same as in the past.  The OMC Calendar will be out soon for 2019.

A discussion was also held on the huge recall that Harley-Davidson had announced about the clutch engagement issue.  G-Man had the recall printed out.  It probably only affects him but if you have a Milwaukee Eight motor, you might inquire.

Gundy was the winner of the door prize and won a nice knife.

The attendees then walked over to Sockeye Grill for a nice meal.  Many thanks to Slick for picking up the tab.  It was Slick's first official meeting and we were glad to have him there.

Thoughts and prayers went out to Rip City for a quick and successful recovery from his surgery.

OGRES 2018 Fall Barbecue with Spouses (Board of Directors)

Bomber and Boss

A long overdue thank you to Bomber and Mrs. B. for hosting the September 2018 Barbecue for the OGRES club members and the OGRES Board of Directors.

Everyone was there except for Duke and his lovely bride.  The food and company was great even though some of the old war stories were retold.

It was a very nice time and the venue and food could not have been better.

Thanks again to Bomber and Mrs. B.
