OGRES 2023 Annual Valentines Day Dinner

 The evening could not have been better! Most everyone arrived early before the official 6 PM starting time. Upon arrival, G-Man was busy polishing the Clubhouse floor, exotic automobiles and all sides of the Clubhouse/Bar.

This night was special and everyone in attendance was impressed with the extra care that was taken. Even the grease pit was tidy.

The bar was covered with wonderful munchies, veggies and beverages provided by Mrs. VP. There was even spittoon on the floor by the bar for the ruffians in the crowd.

G-Man (aka Dick Clark) turned on the vintage malt shop juke box and the party really started. Warmth from the cold outside, music, eats and verrrrry cool four wheeled cars created OGRES MC heaven.

At 6:45 PM, OGRES members and their brides headed over to the Sockeye Grill railroad car for dinner. The RR car was all ours to enjoy with no interlopers. Big thanks to G-Man for making the arrangements for this very special venue.

In attendance were: Rowdy and Diane, Gundy and Joy, G-Man and Sheri, Bomber, RipCity and Stephanie and Mrs. B, Smooth and Pat, 

Those not in attendance: Duke and Pam, Krome and Sonja, Slick and Julie and Grim and Jeannelle.

Those absent were sadly missed and we paused for a moment of silence.

The waitress was great and the railroad car was a wonderful piece of heaven. The event epitomized the foundation for what the OGRES Motorcycle Club stands for: Real Trusting Friendships (RTF). The event was well organized for creating great memories and maximum fun.

Each table was totally engrossed in intense conversation. Everyone was participating. It was a happy evening. Some attendees were even taught to make a worm out of a straw tube and, rudely, some folks spit-balled their straw cover at other combatants. The humor reached a new low when someone stuffed a straw cover in RipCity's nostrils. The result was actually an improvement.

 

Everyone had a chance of photo opportunities doing what they do best...Acting like kids while their children aren't present.

The food was excellent and time seemed to fly while the low cost of the event was a pleasant surprise. Surprise...anti-inflationary...about $15 bucks each. (Editors note: a good thing since OMC members are SO hurting for cash.)

OGRES MC Night at the Steelhead Game

 

On Wednesday, February 22nd, there will be an OGRES MC night at the Steelheads Game. The game will be at the Idaho Central Arena (formerly the CenturyLink Arena).

Duke has procured a luxury Suite (#309) for the Club's enjoyment. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

There are tickets for 6 couples. First come...first served. RSVP with Grim if you are able to attend.

2023 Valentines Day with Spouses February 17th at Fairview Clubhouse

 

The annual 2023 Valentines Day with the spouses will be held on Friday, February 17th, beginning at the Fairview Clubhouse.

There will be a social hour with refreshments at the Fairview Clubhouse beginning at 6 p.m. 

Afterwards, we will all walk over to the Sockeye Grill for dinner in the Railroad Car. 

Please let RipCity know as soon as possible if you will be attending so he can plan appropriately.

OGRES MC January 2023 Meeting Report

 

The OGRES Motorcycle Club 2023 January Meeting was held at the appointed place and time. Members present: Smooth, Bomber, Grim, Rowdy, Gundy, G-Man and RipCity. Members absent: Duke, Slick and Krome.

RipCity was 20 minutes late and texted to start without him. It's tough to have a gift exchange without everyone being present so we talked s@#t about him until he arrived.

A very nice gift exchange was held and the new format was a great deal more pleasant. Some very nice gifts were enjoyed by all members.

We talked about the efficacy of getting a OMC Run reservations made at this time. There was more discussion of Club business but it won't be related here.

All members then went next door to the restaurant and enjoyed a very nice meal in the best of company.

The next event is Valentines Day with the spouses. Details to follow.

OGRES MC 2023 Annual New Year's Day Breakfast Report

 

The OGRES Motorcycle Club 2023 New Year's Day Breakfast was held at the appointed place and time. All OMC members were present except Krome. 

It was great having such a large turnout and it was great conversation, company and story telling. The food was great and everyone seemed to have a good time.

OGRES MC January 2023 Mandatory Meeting Tomorrow January 5th at 6:30 p.m.

 

The mandatory OGRES Motorcycle Club January 2023 Meeting is tomorrow, January 5th, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Fairview Clubhouse. Special thanks to G-Man for allowing the Club to utilize this facility.

This is the appointed meeting where the yearly dues are collected. The dues are $50 for all members to maintain their good standing in the Club. Please bring the correct amount as the Prez will not be bringing any bills for changing.

We will also be having our yearly gift exchange at this meeting. The upper limit for this gift is $100. Cash is NOT acceptable.

We will be holding our meeting and gift exchange at the beginning of the meeting. Afterwards, we will walk over to the Sockeye Grill for some chow.

The breakfast will be held at Terri's Cafe in Meridian. The address is 2483 E. Fairview Avenue in Meridian. It is on Fairview, south side of the road, between Locust Grove and Eagle.

 The OGRES Motorcycle Club 2023 Annual New Years Day Breakfast will be on Saturday, December 31st, at 8 a.m. For obvious reasons it has been moved back a day.

November 2022 OGRES MC Meeting Report

Our new OMC prospect, Charlie T. McWheezer, showed up to the OMC Meeting just prior to commencement. He should make a great addition to the Club if he passes his probation.

OMC members present: Bomber, Grim, G-Man, Smooth, Rowdy and Duke. OMC members absent: Krome, RipCity, Slick and Gundy.

The meeting was late in starting due to DoorDash never showing up with our Flying Pie Pizza. When I called Flying Pie 30 minutes after the pizza was scheduled to arrive, they said DoorDash had never showed up for it. They said they would make fresh pizza and I started to leave to get it. Rowdy volunteered his daughter to make the errand so we could start the meeting. Many thanks to her for her willingness. So as it turned out, we ended up with double pizza as DoorDash and Rowdy's daughter showed up with pizza almost at the same time.

We went through the OMC 2023 Calendar of Runs and Events and hard copies were dispersed to all present OMC members. An electronic copy of the aforementioned OMC Calendar will be emailed to all members. Absent OMC members should check the OMC Calendar closely as there are a few important changes.

The New Year's Day breakfast will be held on Saturday. December 31st, at 9 am. at the Capri Cafe on McMillan at Linder.

All reservations at all overnight OMC Run hotels can be made at this time, including Joseph.

The Summer Run has been moved back a week so we don't have to compete with the other motorcycle club and car show enthusiasts for reservations.

The Fall Run has a new starting point.

It was a great meeting and Grim hasn't laughed that hard for a long time.

OGRES MC Meeting This Coming Thursday, November 3, at 6:30 p.m.

 The November OGRES MC meeting will be held this coming Thursday, November 3rd at 6:30 p.m. 

The meeting will be held at the Sugarberry Clubhouse. Food will be provided, probably pizza unless other suggestions are made.

Hard copies of the Event and Run Calendar will be distributed if members want to bring their OMC Guidebook to the meeting. A three hole punch will be provided.

There are many things to discuss so hopefully it will be a fruitful but fun meeting. 

Halloween costumes are optional.

Annual OGRES MC Fall Barbecue with the Spouses Report

 

Not surprisingly, this event did not go as planned for this year. A couple of days prior to the event, I received a phone call from Bomber advising me that Mrs. B. had tested positive for COVID-19. We discussed many options but decided to keep the event at their crib which made the choice to go pot luck for this event a stroke of genius.

At the appointed hour, OMC members and their brides began to show up. Members present: G-Man, RipCity, Grim, Duke, Rowdy, Bomber and Gundy. Members absent: Krome, Slick and Smooth.

We had a very nice time and the food was great. We will definitely continue the pot luck tradition.
